Research Directions

  We are focusing on the interdisciplinary research that fuses scientific fields including the low-dimensional materials, advanced fabrication, mechanics, energy chemistry, microbiology, and others. There are two major research directions in our lab, Functional Materials and Mechanoelectrochemistry. 

    

  Functional Materials: 

  This part comprises the synthesis of low-dimensional materials/composites and the potential applications. In more detail, chemical vapor deposition (CVD) and liquid exfoliation based 2D materials preparation including graphene, MoS2, InSe, and others; 3D printing enabled composite fabrication; the mechanical reinforcement of polymers, carbon films and fibers; highly thermally conductive interface materials; lithium-ion battery and green catalysis materials. 

 

 

  Mechanoelectrochemistry: 

  We are aiming to find the intrinsic correlation between mechanics and chemistry in low-dimensional materials by exploring new measurement methods. Related fields are the high-energy-density battery electrodes, green catalysis, and microbiology based energy devices. New mechanisms and functions could be established by studying these interacting disciplines.

     课题组致力于融合低维材料、能源化学、力学和微生物学的研究,分别包括一维和二维材料的CVD生长控制,锂离子电池和电催化相关的材料、多物理场干预新机制、器件、数据挖掘,能源化学中的力学问题、复合增强材料、3D打印制造,以及微生物产氢、产电机制研究等。通过制备新材料、发展新的测试技术、融合机器学习等,在多学科交叉工作中寻找结合点,突破常规思维,做有意思、有价值的研究工作。
